Needs work

The listing works, and leaves a lot of installs on the table.

Audience gap

Falling asleep to the sounds

A sample, with invented numbers.

What you get

Find the installs your listing is losing.

People come to your app for different reasons. Most listings speak to one of them. Your report shows you the rest, and what to change first.

The people your screenshots ignore

Your reviews say why people really use your app. We check whether your first three screenshots speak to each of those people, and show you everyone they leave out.

What to fix first

Three fixes, in order of how much they matter. Each one says what is wrong, why it costs you installs, and what to change.

You against the top 100

Your screenshots next to the top 100 apps in your category, so you can see what the leaders do that you don’t.

One score for the whole listing

A number out of 100, broken down by screenshots, title and subtitle, ratings and updates. You see exactly where the points went.

A link to share

Every report has its own page. Send it to your designer, your cofounder or your client.

Questions

Good to know.

Is it really free?

Yes. Search for an app and the report is made. There is no signup, no email is asked for, and nothing is held back. You can have the report emailed to you if you want it.

Where does the data come from?

From the app’s public US App Store listing: Apple’s public lookup, the app’s page on apps.apple.com, its most recent public reviews, and its first three screenshots. Nothing private, and nothing from App Store Connect.

How is the score worked out?

Five areas, weighted: audience coverage 30, screenshots 25, metadata 20, ratings and reviews 15, freshness and reach 10. Each check passes, partly passes or fails, and the report shows the evidence behind every one. 85 and over is strong, 70 to 84 is solid, 50 to 69 needs work.

What is the category benchmark?

Pagefully’s App Screenshot Index reads the screenshots of the top 100 free apps in 23 App Store categories and tags what each one does. Your first three screenshots are read the same way and set beside your category’s, so the comparison is counted, not guessed.

Why can’t it check my keywords?

The keyword field is private to App Store Connect, so no public tool can read it. The same goes for conversion rate, traffic sources and any custom product pages you already run. The report says so plainly instead of guessing.

Who can see a report?

Anyone with its link. Reports are not listed in search engines. A report is reused for a day, so opening it again costs nothing and shows the same result.

It is my app. Can I have its report removed?

Yes. Every report has a link at its foot, “This is my app, remove this report”. Enter an address at the domain your App Store listing links to and we email it a link that deletes the report and stops us assessing the listing again. If your listing names no domain of your own, write to hello@pagefully.com.

Is this an Apple score?

No. It is Pagefully’s own reading of public data. Pagefully is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple.
