Questions, answered from the chart.

How many top Games apps have App Store screenshots with a photo background?
31 of the top 100 Games apps (31%) have at least one, and 67 of their 567 screenshots (12%) do it. Counted from the US App Store’s top free chart on October 9, 2026.
Which Games apps have App Store screenshots with a photo background?
In the top ten: Magic Sort! (#3), Smash Fest! (#8) and All Dubs (#10). Further down the chart: Gossip Harbor®: Merge & Story (#17), Royal Smash! - Physics Puzzle (#22), Food Hunt: Pixel Puzzle (#27), Fortnite (#30) and Tasty Travels: Merge Game (#31), and 23 more.
Should my Games app have App Store screenshots with a photo background?
The chart shows who does it, not whether it would work for your app. 3 of the top ten Games apps do it (30%), against 28 of the other 90 (31%), so the top ten do it about as often as the rest. Ten apps is a small group, so read that as a description of this chart and not as a rule.
