Questions, answered from the chart.
How many top Social Networking apps have App Store screenshots with a top-cropped phone?
18 of the top 100 Social Networking apps (18%) have at least one, and 24 of their 554 screenshots (4%) do it. Counted from the US App Store’s top free chart on October 9, 2026.
Which Social Networking apps have App Store screenshots with a top-cropped phone?
In the top ten: Discord - Talk, Play, Hang Out (#6) and Reco Social (#7). Further down the chart: BIGO LIVE-Live Stream, Go Live (#16), Text Free: Second Phone Number (#19), Facebook Creator Studio (#38), Meetup: Social Events & Groups (#40) and Widgetable: Besties & Couples (#42), and 11 more.
Should my Social Networking app have App Store screenshots with a top-cropped phone?
The chart shows who does it, not whether it would work for your app. 2 of the top ten Social Networking apps do it (20%), against 16 of the other 90 (18%), so the top ten do it about as often as the rest. Ten apps is a small group, so read that as a description of this chart and not as a rule.
